Delegation from University of Wales Trinity Saint David Pays Visit

A delegation of six people from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David paid a visit to the College, looking for further collaborative opportunities in the areas of faculty exchange, student exchange and academic research. Professor Zhang Jingqiu, Deputy Dean of the College, extended her warm welcome to Mr Eifion Griffiths, Member of the University Council, and his colleagues from the Confucius Institute and the faculty of Architecture, Computing and Engineering.

 

The visit started with a meeting briefing each other the most recent development of both sides and then potentials of collaboration were proposed for discussion. Professor Kevin Palmer, Assistant Dean, talked about the possible summer field trips to the U.K. for BUU students of Urban Science based on the many overlapping aspects of both sides academically. Interest was shown in other areas including Master’s programmes in collaborative patterns such as 4+1 and 3+1+1. During the talk, project liaison officers were appointed for later on cooperative progress.

 

The visit concluded with a guided tour to the College’s Digital Experience Museum. The delegates were amazed by the integration of advanced technology with class teaching and practice.

 

The visit is part of the delegation’s itinerary celebrating the 10th anniversary of the co-sponsored Confucius Institute as well as the friendly relations for more than a decade.
